A good landing page test compares two slightly different versions of the same page (where one single element changes) to see which version has the higher conversion rate. There are two types of tests commonly used to increase conversion rates: A/B testing – Commonly used to test two different types of landing pages against one another.

Mobile Friendly Test
From your years of experience as an internet user, you will have no difficulty understanding why it is a major issue to have a fast-loading website.
But did you know that this is also an essential element of your SEO strategy?
Good page speed for good SEO
'What is SEO? '
SEO means Search Engine Optimization. Basically, SEO is the art of convincing Search Engines that you offer very valuable content that would help their users.
'And how do Search Engine estimate the quality of my page?'
There is a huge list of criteria to take into consideration when optimizing a website for search engine. One of them is the page speed.
Put yourself in Google's shoes: your purpose is to provide the best possible results to your users, right? To achieve that, one of your criteria will be to provide only pages that are user-friendly – implying 'loading fast'.
Making sure your page load fast will have three results:
- Improve your Search Engine Ranking in the long run
- Improve the user experience
- Reduce the bouncing rate
How to create a fast-loading page
Here also, there are many criteria to consider.
First thing, use a few page speed tools for checking your page's result.
Here is a list of a few websites that will offer this function:
The reason why I suggest to use several tools is because each of them will provide you with different diagnosis and solutions to improve your results.

Now, let's start the real work!
Optimizing your pictures
The most common element that slows down a page load are the images hosted on it.
There are three things you must consider in terms of displaying pictures on your website:
- Have you defined their size?
- Are the pictures as small as they should be?
- Have you optimized those pictures?
First, you must make sure that ALL images on your website have defined width and height. If you do not define those two parameters the visitor's browser will take longer loading the page and need to change the layout while loading.
Then, you must make sure your images are as small as they should be. That means that you should not load a picture that is 3,000px large if you ask the browser to resize it to 25px. Make sure all pictures you call have the proper size.
Finally, remember to optimize your pictures. There are some free tools out there that will do that for you: just load your pictures, press the button, and they come out optimized and ready to be used! Try www.kraken.io or www.smushit.com to start with images optimization.
Optimizing your code
Without getting too much into details, I must mention that it is essential to optimize your code. Talk with your programmer to establish the best methods to do so. As best practice, I would suggest to break your code into different portions and to call only what is necessary for each page. For example, you should create a separate CSS file (for page styling), different files for each Javascript element, etc.
Once done, make sure each page only calls whatever is necessary (do not load all your scripts if you are not using them!).
Optimizing your code also means avoiding to load too many third party elements such as commenting widgets, sharing tools, 'like' or '+1' buttons, etc. Focus on what you need and remove the rest.

Also, consider minifying your files (CSS and Javascript) in a way that will be easier for your server to process them. Cox speed test las vegas.
Most important of all, both for your own sake and your website's performance: make sure you have a clean code.
Optimizing your server
You know the main difference between your website and, let's say, amazon's website? Why their website is fast from anywhere in the world, but yours isn't?
Simply because large websites have multiple servers located all around the world. Local traffic is then directed to the closest server to insure optimal speed.
You might not be able to achieve that but you can surely make use of the tools you have to get as close as possible! The solution is called CDN (Content Delivery Network).
A CDN is a system where you will host part of your content (usually images) on a network server to enable the visitor to load your pictures from the closest server. You can browse Google to find some free CDN systems.
The other advantage of a CDN is to relieve your server from unnecessary bandwidth usage: if the pictures are downloaded from another server there are no longer a burden on yours. This additional bandwidth will help your server dealing better with requests.

To optimize your server you should also get in touch with your hosting company and see what solutions they might offer: move you to a faster server, have a dedicated server or improve general settings.
You also have additional settings you could perform on your side: optimizing your server caching, enabling gzip compression, avoiding landing page redirections, etc.
Checking your improvement
Once you have done all those changes, go back to your testing tools and try again.
See what level of improvement you achieved and how you could go further. Read all the details given by the tools and try to keep optimizing your site until you are satisfied with the results.
My personal experience
The reason why I come to write on this topic is simple: a few weeks back I was browsing my blog and found it too slow. I started to test it and quickly discovered that my page speed wasn't that great.
I went through all the steps I mentioned in this article and within a week my page speed results have been multiplied by two. Not even mentioning the SEO aspect of things, from a user experience perspective, the result was great.
Landing Page Speed Test Free
I strongly recommend you to do the same: get better results and make your visitors happier all at once.
